Meta Rejects a Coordinated AI Slowdown as Safety Splits

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has distanced the company from calls for a coordinated slowdown in advanced artificial-intelligence development, arguing that each AI company should be responsible for making its own systems safe. The central question is now less whether AI companies acknowledge risk than whether their safeguards can be compared, audited and enforced across competitors. Until that happens, voluntary safety commitments will remain difficult to distinguish from promises made under commercial pressure.
