Who is responsible

Dr. Shayan Salehi H.C. is the editor of The ColdAI Times. The editor sets these standards, is accountable for everything the Times publishes, reviews reader reports and decides on corrections, updates and removals. The Times is published by ColdAI LLC; see the masthead.

What the AI does

Once a week, an AI research agent built on Anthropic's Claude reads current reporting and primary sources for each section and drafts one article per section. It selects the sources, writes the text, proposes a photograph from Wikimedia Commons and fills in the metadata. Every article is labelled as an Analysis or a News brief and carries a note saying how it was made.

What is checked before publication

Publication is automated. An article is rejected unless it passes these checks:

• It cites at least two sources from at least two different publishers, all on public HTTPS pages.
• At least three of its key facts are each tied to a specific cited source.
• Links in the text point only to the sources it cites.
• It stays within the length set for its format.
• Its photograph has a licence that permits reuse, re-verified at Wikimedia Commons, with the credit and licence shown under the image.

Articles are not individually approved by a person before they appear. The editor reviews published articles and acts on anything that falls short.

What the AI never does

We do not present AI work as a human interview, an eyewitness account or first-hand investigation. We do not invent quotes, people or credentials, and we do not use AI-generated photographs. Quotes must come from a cited source. When sources disagree or a fact is unconfirmed, the article says so.

Why we use AI

It lets a small publisher cover ten sections every week with sourced context, at a cost it can sustain. In exchange, we show our sources on every article and correct errors in public.

Sourcing and original value

Articles should prefer primary documents and official sources, credit the outlets whose reporting they rely on, and explain what changed, why it matters and what remains uncertain. The full source list appears at the end of every article so claims can be checked.

Conflicts of interest

ColdAI LLC builds AI and blockchain products and works in some of the markets the Times covers. When an article involves ColdAI, its products or its partners, the article says so. The Times carries no advertising and no sponsored content.
